Snowdon boy's death was 'sheer bad luck'

A boy died on Snowdon because of sheer bad luck when a large rock gave way, a coroner said.Liam Costello, 11, of Childwall, Liverpool, suffered a fractured skull when he fell from Crib Goch while tackling the ridge with a group of fellow football club members last October.

Petition calls for law change to protect paths

More than 500 people have signed an e-petition to the Prime Minister demanding that lost footpaths are protected.20,000 footpaths are at riskThe petition, started by Janet Davis of the Ramblers’ Association, asks Gordon Brown to repeal sections of the Countryside and Rights of Way Act which will lead to any rights of way being lost forever if they are not recorded by 2026.
