Mountain rescuers know all about the dangers of exposure and frostnip, but that didn’t stop members of a Welsh team stripping off for a television show.
The North East Wales Search and Rescue team took off their Gore-tex and fleeces for a photoshoot and film session in the buff as part of Gok Wan’s How to Look Good Naked. The programme screens this Tuesday, 29 September, on Channel 4.
The programme aims ‘to show the UK how to celebrate body confidence’.
The team was filmed, minus clothes but with boots, on Moel Famau, the 554m (1,818ft) hill to the West of Mold. The show can be seen at 8pm.
Gok Wan described the team as ‘confident, strong and honest’. The team mainly covers the counties of Flintshire, Denbighshire, Conwy, Wrexham, Powys, and parts of Wirral and Cheshire and like all volunteer mountain rescue teams in Britain, is unpaid and on call 365 days a year. It averages 25 calls each year.

28 September 2009I'm another NEWSAR team member, but too chicken to take part! Hats off to them (well in fact it looks like everything off to them...) they were braver than me and I don't mind admitting it! Good job folks.
