A mountain biker was rescued after falling and injuring herself in a Lakeland forest.

Fourteen members of the Coniston Mountain Rescue Team went to the aid of the woman after the incident in Grizedale Forest.

The team was alerted about 2.45pm on Friday.

The rider was treated at the scene for a leg injury and taken to a waiting ambulance for further treatment at hospital.
