The remains were found in woodland between Crianlarich and Tyndrum

A body was found by a walker in woods in the Highlands.

The remains, which were decomposed, were found on Saturday by a walker close to the main A82 road between Crianlarich and Tyndrum in Stirlingshire.

Central Scotland Police said a post-mortem examination would be carried out on the body, but they do not believe the death is suspicious.

Police added they believed the remains are those of a man.

They said they are following a line of enquiry relating to the man’s identity, which has not yet been confirmed.

The West Highland Way passes close to the area in Strathfillan.
