A walker was rescued after she slipped and injured her ankle.

Nine members of the Coniston Mountain Rescue Team went to her aid after being alerted about 3.50pm today, Friday.

She was treated for her injuries at the scene, then stretchered to a team vehicle which took her to a waiting ambulance.

She was then taken to Furness General Hospital in Barrow in Furness for further treatment.
