Tamas Gador. His sister said the family is desperate for information

The family of a man who went missing on a camping trip on a Hebridean isle has issued a new picture of the man in a bid to find him.

Tamas Gador was reported missing yesterday, Wednesday, after going on a camping trip on Lewis.

He was last seen at the weekend in the Stornoway area.

Today, his sister appealed to walkers and other outdoor enthusiasts for information on the Hungarian man, who is described by her as 6ft 6ins (1.98m), of slim build and with dark brown hair.

Mr Gador has a beard.

Krisztina Gador Meyers said: “We are desperate for information about him.”

Northern Constabulary said when he was last seen he was wearing a bright green waterproof jacket, light-coloured trousers, walking boots and carrying a large rucksack and had a dome tent with a red rain cover.

Police said they are concerned for Mr Gador’s welfare.

A Northern Constabulary spokesperson said: “It is possible that Mr Gador made other accommodation arrangements while visiting the area, but police are keen to speak to him directly, to anyone who has seen a man matching his description or to anyone who knows of his whereabouts on 01851 702222.
