Police have confirmed the body found on the Aberdeenshire coast on Tuesday is that of missing hillwalker Euan Wright.

Mr Wright’s body was found at the Fowlsheugh nature reserve near Stonehaven.

The keen walker and ornithologist was reported missing after failing to return to his Dundee home.

The body was found at the nature reserve at Crawton at 2.15pm on Tuesday after police had appealed for sightings of the outdoor enthusiast.

A police spokesperson said: “Grampian Police can confirm the identity of the man found deceased in Fowlsheugh Nature Reserve in Stonehaven as Euan Wright, 30, from the Tayside area.

“The death is still being treated as unexplained but there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.”
