Police said all members of the group caught in the avalanche on Bidean nam Bian have been located.

A Northern Constabulary spokesperson said they were making efforts to trace the families of those involved.

The spokesperson said: “The party of six: three men and three women, had been climbing on Bidean nam Bian.

“One male member of the party raised the alarm and stayed to assist the searches at the scene.

“One woman remains in a serious condition at Belford Hospital.

“There is no further information on the condition of the other members of the party at this time.”

Glencoe and Lochaber Mountain Rescue Teams were involved in the rescue and search for the avalanched climbers after emergency services were alerted at about 2pm today.
