Two walkers were rescued from a Lake District fell after getting stuck on steep ground.

Coniston Mountain Rescue Team was alerted about 3.15pm yesterday after the pair called for help after getting cragfast on Raven Tor above Levers Water.

A team spokesperson said the walkers got stuck while coming down a gully and then night fell.

Fifteen volunteer team members took part in the rescue.

The spokesperson said: “In deteriorating weather conditions the pair were located unhurt but in very difficult terrain and lowered from the gully before being guided down to the team’s vehicles.”
