A walker missing in the Highlands has been found safe and well.

The 40-year-old was reported missing on Ben Vorlich in Perthshire after getting separated from his companion near the summit of the mountain.

Tayside Police said: “About midnight the missing walker was found safe and well following outstanding work in difficult weather conditions by all of the various search and rescue teams that were assisting to look for him.”

The rescue was the third on the 985m (3,232ft) munro in less than three weeks.
