A walker was rescued from a Lakeland beauty spot after injuring herself.

The walker suffered a serious arm injury today while walking in the Torver Intake area of Tarn Hows.

Coniston Mountain Rescue Team was called out and 13 members went to her aid.

She was treated at the scene by the volunteer rescuers and then taken from the fellside by the team. She was then transferred to Furness General Hospital in Barrow in Furness for further treatment.
