A search is underway on a Hebridean island for a walker reported overdue.

Police Scotland said the man was walking in the Blàbheinn area of the Skye Cuillin.

A Coastguard helicopter from Stornoway has joined the search for the man, who was reported missing this morning, and mountain rescue teams are also in the area.

The 928m (3,045ft) munro of Blàbheinn stands east of the main Cuillin range.

A police spokesperson said no further information is available at present.
