A man was rescued after falling into a Snowdonia river.

Aberglaslyn Mountain Rescue Team was called out at 7pm on Wednesday after the local man fell into the Afon Glaslyn in the Aberglaslyn Pass, south of Beddgelert.

A team spokesperson said the man fell near the Pont Aberglaslyn, coming to rest in the area of Pwll Glas.

“He sustained minor injuries to his face, arm and leg as a result of the fall,” the spokesperson said.

“The team deployed 10 team members and two of its Land Rover ambulances to the area from their base at Porthmadog, containing specialist water rescue equipment.

“The Welsh Ambulance Service and North Wales Police were also called to assist.

“The man was stretchered from the riverbank to the awaiting ambulance at the roadside using the team’s specialist stretcher and equipment.”

He was then taken by ambulance to Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor, for further treatment.

The rescue ended at 7.45pm.
