A runner was rescued after falling and breaking her leg on a fell in the Lake District.

Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team was called out about 5.35pm yesterday, Friday, to the site near the Caermote Roman fort, north-west of Binsey.

Ambulance staff called for the team’s help to treat the woman after she slipped and suffered the injury.
