A walker suffered a suspected broken ankle on a Peak District hill.

Edale and Buxton Mountain Rescue Teams were called out shortly after 1.30pm when the woman slipped and suffered the injury while coming down Jacob’s Ladder on Kinder Scout.

Fellow walkers helped the woman before rescuers arrived and she was then treated at the scene before being stretchered to Lee House near Upper Booth, where an ambulance met the rescue party and took the injured walker to hospital in Sheffield.

The callout was the 30th of the year for the Edale team.
