Police are warning campers in the Highlands to secure their bicycles after three were stolen in the past week.

The bikes were stolen from campsites in the east Loch Lomond area overnight.

The thefts happened on the nights of 14 and 19 July. Police based at Balfron appealed to campsite owners and others hosting holidaymakers to warn their visitors about the need to lock their machines securely.

A Police Scotland spokesperson added: “Similarly, if you are aware of a good quality cycle for sale at a knock-down price, consider it may be stolen and the criminal implications for the buyer.

“Any information about these thefts should be directed to Balfron Police Office on 101.”
