A walker who was reported missing in the Yorkshire Dales has been found safe and well.

North Yorkshire Police said Kathryn Summersgill was found on Wednesday afternoon in the Buckden area.

The 62-year-old was reported missing on Monday. Her car was found in the village car park in upper Wharfedale, with a parking ticket bought on Friday morning.

Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association was called out on Tuesday to help in the search.

A police spokesperson said: “Thank you to everyone who helped us with our appeal to find Kathryn.”
