A walker suffered multiple injuries when he fell down a lakeside shore after his dog pulled him off his feet.

The 63-year-old was walking on the path alongside Crummock Water near the boathouse when he was pulled off balance and fell down a banking.

He injured his head, leg and arm in the fall.

Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team was called out and members treated him at the scene before a team Land Rover took him to a waiting ambulance at Lanthwaite Wood car park.

He was then taken to West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven for further treatment.

The rescue involved 15 volunteers from Cockermouth MRT.
