A climber has died in an incident at an indoor wall in Exeter.

The 57-year-old is believed to have suffered fatal head injuries in a fall at the Quay Climbing Centre on Friday.

Emergency services were called to the site in the evening and an air ambulance also flew to the scene.

Devon and Cornwall Police said the man’s death, which happened in the roped climbing wall area, was being treated as accidental.

A centre spokesperson said the man was an experienced climber.
