Missing man Andrew Moorhouse

A man who has repeatedly sparked searches across Britain has been reported missing again.

Police Scotland said Andrew Moorhouse has gone missing from his home in Lerwick, Shetland.

Officers said the 47-year-old, who went missing in the early hours of Thursday, is a keen walker and could be heading towards the North of the island.

A spokesperson said: “Andrew is described as white, around 5ft 9ins [1.79m], of stocky build with balding red hair and a beard. He is likely to be wearing outdoor clothing and may be carrying a rucksack.

“Anyone who has information or who may have spoken to him should call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 1032 of Thursday, 2 July, 2020.”

In October last year, Mr Moorhouse was reported missing in Lochaber after leaving his Sheffield home. A month earlier, he sparked a search in the Keswick area, and in June the same year was also reported missing in the Aviemore area.

Police Scotland said Mr Moorhouse may be in the Weisdale area of Shetland Mainland.

A spokesperson said: “There was a possible sighting of Andrew around lunchtime on Thursday, 2 July near Whiteness. He was wearing a dark green walking jacket and carrying a black rucksack.”

They added he has an English accent.

Police Scotland said that Mr Moorhouse has been found safe and well.

A spokesperson said: “Police Scotland would like to thank the members of HM Coastguard and the public for their assistance.”
