Rescuers searching for a missing hillwalker in the Lochaber mountains have found a man’s body.

Stuart Baillie was reported missing on Monday after setting out for a walk from Glen Nevis, intending to visit Aonach Beag and Aonach Mòr.

The 60-year-old, from Bo’ness, failed to return, prompting a major search by Lochaber, Glencoe and Police Scotland Mountain Rescue Teams, a Coastguard helicopter crew and Search and Rescue Dogs Association members.

Police Scotland said: “Formal identification has yet to take place but Mr Baillie’s family has been informed. There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.”
