A teenager was airlifted from a Snowdonia mountain after being taken ill.

The 17-year-old girl was rescued from the Dulyn area of the Carneddau, near Foel Grach, suffering from breathing difficulties.

The girl was with a party of seven Duke of Edinburgh’s Award expedition members when she got into difficulties about 11.10am yesterday, Tuesday.

The North Wales Police helicopter landed at the site in poor weather, and she was given first aid before being flown to Glan Clwyd Hospital for further treatment.

The remaining party members were then led down the mountain to safety by a team from the Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Organisation and one of the helicopter’s crew members.
