Police searching for a man last seen at a makeshift camp in the Highlands have found a body.

Divers from the Central Scotland Police underwater search unit found the body in the River Leny close to the makeshift campsite where 37-year-old David Donnelly was camping.

The Denny man had last been seen near Loch Lubnaig, north of Callander late on Friday. Mountain rescue teams and Search and Rescue Dogs Association handlers and dogs joined the search for the man.

A spokeswoman for Central Scotland Police said Mr Donnelly’s family had been informed and added that the identity of the deceased man was not being released until a formal identification has been carried out.
