Nappa Scars, scene of the man's slip

A walker was rescued after injuring his leg when he slipped on a muddy path.

The 60-year-old was walking near Nappa Scars in the Yorkshire Dales today when the slip occurred.

Members of the Cave Rescue Organisation were called out at 12.15pm and paramedics treated the man at the site on Norber Brow, near Austwick.

Team members then stretchered him the short distance to a waiting ambulance which took the man to hospital for further treatment.
