Police have named the climber who died in a fall on Ben Nevis’s North Face at the weekend.

Paul Guest, 32, of Kidderminster, Worcestershire, was on Zero Gully when he and David Warden, 46, of Perth fell more than 350m (1,150ft) on Sunday.

Mr Warden was airlifted by RAF Sea King helicopter to hospital in Fort William with serious injuries, but Mr Guest was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team and the RAF crew from Lossiemouth went to the aid of the climbing pair who fell from the grade V winter route on the 1,344m (4,409ft) mountain.
