Stephen Longfellow's body was found late on Friday

Rescuers searching for a missing walker in Snowdonia have found his body.

North Wales Police said teams looking for Stephen Longfellow of Leeds made the discovery on Friday afternoon.

The body was found on Tryfan by teams searching for the 64-year-old, who had not been seen since Sunday 30 August when he told fellow walkers in the Llanfihangel y Pennant area he was thinking of going for a walk either on the Snowdon Horseshoe or Tryfan.

A North Wales Police spokesperson said: “He was taken toYsbyty Gwynedd in Bangor where he was later formally identified.

“The North West Wales coroner has been informed.”
