A pair of walkers were rescued after getting lost in the dark.

The duo became benighted while walking on Claife Heights in the Lake District.

Coniston Mountain Rescue Team was alerted at 6.50pm yesterday, Thursday, and 11 members went to the fell, on the western shore of Windermere.

The walkers were found by the rescue team and accompanied, uninjured from the 270m (866ft) fell.
