The man was found by rescuers in Grisedale

A teenager was rescued after suffering back pain while on an organised expedition in the Lake District.

Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team was called out about 10.50am on Tuesday after the 18-year-old from Durham got into difficulties.

A spokesperson for the team said: “After a short search involving team members and the Great North Air Ambulance, the casualty was located in the Grisedale valley and transported by Land Rover ambulance back to the team’s rescue centre before being taken by the organisers to Penrith Hospital.”
