Rescuers searching for a missing walker on Skye have found a body.

Police said a man’s body was found yesterday on the Cuillin range.

Extensive searches had been carried out since Thursday, when a member of the public reported seeing the 60-year-old fall from the mountains.

Members of the Skye Mountain Rescue Team and colleagues from the Kintail team mounted searches in deteriorating conditions, with low cloud and sub-zero temperatures.

Members of the Search and Rescue Dogs Association and an RAF search and rescue Sea King helicopter also took part in the operation.
