Tom Brown went missing after leaving Glen Nevis Youth Hostel

Rescuers have this weekend continued the search for two missing walkers in the Highlands.

Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team was helped by members of the RAF Mountain Rescue Team in the hunt for Tom Brown and Eric Cyl.

Both men disappeared in separated incidents after heading for walks in the Glen Nevis and Steall area.

But rescuers failed to find any trace of either man.

A Lochaber MRT spokesperson said: “The search today concentrated on Meall Cumhann but as before has been unsuccessful.

“We have now covered all potential routes that either of these missing persons could have taken from their last known locations. We would ask any walkers in Glen Nevis, the Mamores, Grey Corries, Aonach Beag and Carn Dearg areas to keep their eyes open for items of gear or clothing. We will keep looking.”

The spokesperson thanked everyone who helped with the searches, and added: “The family also wish us to pass on their thanks to all the teams, dogs and people who have contributed to the massive effort so far.”
