An injured walker was airlifted to hospital after spending the night on a Highland peak.

Killin Mountain Rescue Team was alerted on Tuesday and began searching Ben More, near Crianlarich for the hillwalker.

A team spokesperson said the rescuers had little to go on and faced horrendous conditions with heavy rain on the mountain. The team failed to find the missing person.

On Wednesday, the Killin team requested the help of colleagues from the Lomond and Ochils teams and the Prestwick Coastguard helicopter also flew to the scene.

The Killin MRT spokesperson said: “This morning the search commenced and thankfully the walker was located and was airlifted to hospital.”
