Police have released a video showing a man they want to trace following an alleged assault on a Lakeland fell earlier this year.

Cumbria Constabulary said the incident happened in March when a 46-year-old man was walking on the fells above Ambleside.

He suffered minor injuries in the attack, which happened at 1.30pm on Saturday 24 March.

Now police in Windermere have released footage which appears to show a man lifting a stick and assaulting the walker.

A police spokesperson said: “Police would like to speak to the man shown and also anyone who was in the area at the time in order to identify the person involved.

“If you are pictured or if you recognise anyone, can you please contact Windermere police on 101?”
