Stephen Gibson went missing on Wednesday

Rescuers searching for a missing walker on the North York Moors have found a body.

Stephen Gibson had not been seen since Wednesday when he became separated from a walking group in thick fog on Spaunton Moor.

North Yorkshire Police said the body was found near Cropton, east of Lastingham, this morning.

A spokesperson said: “Stephen’s family have been informed of the discovery.
“Thank you to everyone who assisted with the search.”
