A walker who went missing on the West Highland Way has been found.

Police said Cyprian Broekhuis, who they believed might have been lost on the shores of Loch Lomond, was safe and well.

The 21-year-old rang his father in Amsterdam on Wednesday evening but had not made contact since then. He had last been seen at Cashel, north of Balmaha on Wednesday afternoon.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We’re delighted to confirm that Cyprian Broekhuis has been traced safe and well.

“Thanks to the public for their assistance during our appeal.”
